How to present chicken livers

I want to go and try to catch barbel (for the first time) in Zandvlei tomorow how do i present chicken livers , do i use cotton like when baiting up at the sea ?

Just tie a big hook at the end of your line, size3/0, no sinker or anything.... Thread the liver onto the hook a few times like you would a sardine fillet. no cotton, etc. and cast out and wait... if there's a barbel around it will pick you up. the liver should be heavy enough to cast on its own.

A bit late for advice.
I use a 5/0 hook, thread as much liver you can, tie it loosly with bait cotton, but keep the point proud.

Hoekom gebruik jy nie hoender harte nie? In my opinie is dit wêrelde beter as lewer en omdat dit 'n spier is sit die ding lekker stewig aan jou hoek sonder dat jy rek gare hoef te gebruik. En byt bietjie die ding dan proe jy wat is bloed rêrig. hehehe. Ek gooi lewer in 'n blender en meng dan die fyn lewer stukkies met vismeel en supercast bom om my area te lok.

I used some old ge-braaide T bone on the weekend in misverstand and had a lot of luck .
