Hi,

My dad and a few of his friends spent the weekend fishing just north of the Umtamvuna River and got into some nice shad (1kg+) as well as Moonfish, monster Blacktails, a 3kg Rockcod, and 3 very nice Kob of 8kg, 6kg and 3kg.

They also saw quite a bit of action just offshore where a shoal of red-eye where.

Overall, fishing at port edward has improved substantially and it looks like it's gonna be a very productive Winter!

This spot is known as Rennies - just north of the Umtamvuna River mouth (river at which Wildcoast Sun is situated)

Got to enter just off 5th Avenue and walk for about 20min south. The walk is usually worth the effort as you can see.

Howzit, this is great news, I am spending next week at Carribean Estates - is it easy to walk up the beach from the resort to those rocks?

And...... nice fish!!

Hi,

Carribean Estates is the ideal location - met a holidaymaker at Port edward 2 weeks and he had caught some Kob, shad and moon fish just outside Carribean estates.

Apparantly there is also a nice productive hole right in front of the entrance that leads directly onto the beach - you can try there just before sunrise and by 7h00 if you have no luck, trek to the rocks to the north - fish either right next to the rocks from the sand or from the first set of rocks casting just to your right.

Once the tide goes down, fish from the first set of rocks just past the stream, casting to the left of the bay.

Good luck & tight lines

Howzit guys, I will be holidaying at Caribbean Estates next week & I was looking for info about the spot, I'm a Joster & this will be my first crack at saltwater, what spots can I target & what times of the day? ^^..
