Ushaka in the afternoons is worth a try. To the right of the pier you can try for shad
or if you have sealice/pink prawn/crackers or even fresh redeye then try the left of the pier for stumpy and grunter. Blue lagoon is hectic on weekends but a throw
at night does sometimes yield kob and grunter.
Pity the piers are not open to fishing as 90% of the fish i've caught in durban have been from the piers.
Always fish with company and good luck.

A guy that works with me fishes every morning before sunrise and every afternoon at Addington (just after sunset) and he always catches shad, he said.
Apparently there are always other guys fishing as well.
Make sure there is a car guard - the crooks are also cashing in on the present "shad" run

thanks for the info. was supposed to fish saturday night with mekhaeel but he didnt end up going so i went sunday morning and tried but with no luck. some other guys were fishing too but even they didnt catch. guess it was low tide? i will be around again this weekend so would really like joining some of the durban guys as i fish alone.

maybe you should try snakepark pier during the day incoming water .if you facing foward then thow 10 o clock as far out as possible .use muscle or ghost crab with 4/0 to 6/0 circle you wont go wrong .make sure to there just as it gets to dead low the n push it over the bank 10 o clock

thanks, will try that out one day.. gona get my general bait licence. is it the broken down pier? think i fished there once. and what species of fish would i catch?
