Those are true words maybe I must decrease on the wait I am carrying and then maybe I can increase on the distance I am walking. I have only one Big problem/ advantage ( decide for yourself ) my wife also fishes and so I dont always have the final say of what goes into the bag. It is sometimes the same as packing the car.

I thought i was the only one looking to downsize while teh masters are increasing the load. after the vidal trip i was convinced im carrying toooo much and not packed intelligently. i kept aside teh big blue bag, i have a small very comfy back pack, inside i have my ready made traces in a pouch, container with all my sinkers, a container for swivels and hooks. 1 container of reserve hooks nad swivels, slides ect. teh front has a small zip for fishing licence, keys cigs. inside bag i also have my big head torch and 2 reels. i have 4 reels of trace line and leaders. I even got a smaller cooler box that i put in my bait , knife cotton and cloth witha small water bucket. (If im carrying extra heavy sinkers i sometimes put them in my coolerbox. i sometimes put my rod bucket around my waist or in the cooler box.

I take my bait that ill use first and put it in a icecream conatainer and the rest below. i also have a habit of keeping my last bait/trace. i rebait and freeze the trace.especially when i use muscles and sealice,

It has made a huge difference. i now need to sort out a bag to carry 2 rods and 2 stands.

I think that is the way to go...during the Cape Vidal trip ...Khani and myself did the samething after the first day...reduced our bait to one box ,,,left our large tackle boxes at the cabin..took only a few of everything in a liitle bucket...we never ran out of anthiny...made a big difference...the next day..just replaced what we lost..and carried on..
...whu is your name not on the B?day bash list....you know there is a prize for the largest birdnest....
