Hi Guys,
In an earlier post I was looking for a Supalite however an Evo 465 presented itself..
Now my question is the following..
I'm small oke..  170cm and 75kgs.. 
Will be mostly fishing rivers in EC(trolling/drift etc).. but want the option also to go out to sea once I have comfortable and paddle fit.. most likely launch site will be kenton-on-sea or PE Bay area.. easy-ish places. however might do wild side of PE one day.. but not the near future.

The Evo is a tad longer/heavier than the Supalite..
basically what I want to know will it suit my requirement for what I need?

also what should I look out for on a second hand Evo?

I would suggest that you rather go for the EVO 465 -if choosing between the Supalite and the Evo. The Evo should be lighter and far more functional in terms of being quicker and very stable. I found on the 465 that it bobs around a bit in offshore chop. So if you are thinking of getting something that can also better handle off-shore (Wildside in particular) rather go for an Evo 495? Only downside is it has a wide turning circle and at times on very big swell the nose digs in due to length!? The EVO wet well capacity is a winner - buckets of space in all models!

(If you have the extra cash for a new one then the Fisha 500 is ideal, light, fast and stable -with a surf-ski rudder for easy turning. Chat to Rujaun.)

Re: what to look out in 2nd hand ski, to state the obvious is sea-worthiness! That's why I said contact Rujaun who organises skis for guys down here from Stealth or contact Stealth DBN direct. They often have guys upgrading, and won't sell you a ski that is not sea-worthy.

After doing some research I think the Evo is the way to go also.. albeit a 495 might be too big - will stick to a 465.. even a 430 if i can find one.

re Rajaul - any chance you might have a contact number?

At risk of sounding contradictory, I used Fredster"s Evo 430 for a few trips at Noordhoek, and I must say really enjoyed the ski, light, fast enough, and manoeuvrable. A very nice ski if you can get one.

Well.. If an Evo 430 will present itself.. it will be my first choice as the research I've done to date suggest it will be better suited for my needs... not really fussed about the bigger hatches etc..

nothing's popped up on the radar yet... but in no real rush. will keep looking.

unless fredster is looking to depart with his 430 ;-)
