Hi Gents,

I am looking to get a oair of new 10ft or 12ft rods.

I currently only fish socially, but Soon i will be looking to join a club. I am looking for a rod that would benefit me in both situations. Budget is R700 a rod.

What ive looked at so far are:
Sensation Velocity V1
Sensation Finesse
Sensation Explosion

Could you please shed some light on these options and any advise on other rods will also be greatly appreciated.

I will be also looking to pair them up with some baitrunners.
The okuma longbow has been the best priced for me.
However i have also considered saving up a bit more to get some shimano DL's.

Any advise or comments are welcome

I cannot comment on the rods but I would save up to get the Shimano DL instead or if I had to even the ST above the longbows...

The Velocity is the best balanced in my opinion
Shimano are obviously great but those longbows are very nice indeed.

All the rods mentioned are above the budget.

If you can however pick the Explosions up at a price under R1200 then rather go for them. They are absolute casting machines. The 13'Velocity tip can also be used on that rod (for future reference)

Can you comment on the sensation carp concept and tempo rods?

Do they compare to the velocity V1's?

That should provide the answer

Tempo lovely rod just above entry level and we did extensive testing on them in September last year. Cast well etc etc but nowhere like a V1

The Explosion has the Oval DC tip and was in fact the pre-cursor to the DC Oval
