Hi everyone,

We had a clubcomp yesterday on the private side. Was not easy. Only 4 people got fish, al carp. The key was getting distance as most fish came out at over 100m, although a nice 2kg came out at approx 40m. Traces that worked were long sliding bottom as there is a lot of silt. Bait included floaties and swd.

Did the private thing with wife and dogs at the Vaal River this weekend. 3 Fish between 3-3½ kgs for the whole weekend! Not for lack of trying! Also a lot of silt/mud. Can you please explain "long sliding bottom rig" for me - would like to try it next time out at this venue.
