Hi everyone

I'm going down to Natures Valley this weekend- weather is looking great and I'm really looking forward to getting a line in the water.

Does anyone know what is biting there at the moment and where to target them as I don't know the area very well. I'm mainly looking for nice cob or leeries but if they are not biting will also enjoy landing a few nice sized sharks.

Any info will be appreciated.

Good memories of Natures Valley fishing off the beach as a kid staying there every year during December hols... used to wake up at 3 am and fish to sunrise with some kind of fillet. Almost always caught 2 or 3 decent size elf and sometimes also using a spoon. Also a few Kob.

If I had to fish there these days I'd definitely try live bait - but mullett are not always available off the beach. Maybe in the lagoon near the mouth, so you can quickly carry them to the beach and send them sliding out. Some big leeries there in the surf if conditions are good. Or get some Occie leg at blue rocks - used to be plentiful.

Usually plenty of holes off the beach - dump your sinker next to one on the drop off or on the far side of a parallel gully (or wade onto a sandbank at low tide and gooi over the last breakers).

If you into rock fishing there is the flat rocks right next to salt river - a legendary mussel cracker spot.
