Directions Traveling along the N3 towards Pietermaritzburg, take exit 32 – Hillcrest / Assagay / Shongweni. Turn left at the top of the off-ramp and from here on you can follow the sign boards for Spirit of Adventure / Shongweni Dam / Shongweni Resources Reserve. After a short while, you’ll see that the sign boards direct you to turn left into the M48. Thereafter (within about 700 meters) you’ll turn right and just keep going (for about 6 kilometers) until you get to the gates of the reserve.

Yes, that's close by, I've fished there once or twice but the fishing is hard there & if you want some of the 20kg-25kg carp that swims around in that dam, you gota fish there 4 a week... Lots of time & money...

Because I don't like smelling like the inside of a dead fish & I do fish the sea sometimes but with lures, spoons & stuff like that not bait.

You see.... I like coming home smelling like a fruit basket from all those fruity carp flavors not like dead smelly sardine:puke

Hi All,

I have relocated to Durban a few months back.

LOVING the sea fishing, weather, people, food, the vibe, etc, but I am starting to miss my carp fishing...

I have been to Kingfisher, Fisherman's warehouse, but none of these keeps decent stock for carp fishing.

Where can I go to get some decent stock? willing to travel to PMB's distance...

I also heard that you can go carp fishing at St Ivys... is it any good?

PLEASE HELP.....

Singing reel greetings

i actually think kingfisher has a adequate selection.
between them and basil manning you should find what you looking for. unless you looking for something specific?

Out of all the places iv been around to in Durban, basil manning had the best selection, not sure about the one in umhlanga, but the one in Springfield.

As mentioned, kingfisher have a decent selection too.

Other than that, I ended up going the online route cause most were pretty useless on their selection and it's much cheaper online.

No idea on pmb though.

conventional.
3 plain competition floaties on a hook. no dip.
dam doesnt get a lot of fishing pressure, so i start with no flavours.
