I need some help. How do i put live mullet on trace for cob (not sliding)

Any info will be much appreciated

With a single hook you can hook it through the eyes. Enter your hook point in one eye and exit the other.

There is hard part in the head just in front of the eyes that should protect the mullet from ripping out while casting.

When using a double hook trace, yes. Then they hook one hook behind the head and one above the tail.

But then again, it is usually done with your bigger mullet and THEN you would rather slide them out than cast.

Those 15cm jobbies will work nicely with a single hook.

the sardine will die if hooked through the eyes...

the hook through eye the method works for trolling

if you want your bait to be "live" then i suggest you clip the tail and push the hook through the bone... they can last up to 2-3hours.
