Hi All,

I enjoy exploring different venues at the vaaldam.

Need some info about Bosbou, if anyone could help me it would be great, thanks for your time.

Co-oridnates.....
Ablution..... Yes or no.... What type of ablutions
Is it safe if i go on on my own....
Cost......
What type of flavour do you use in summer and winter....
What distance to catch good size....

Any photos would be great...

Hi there,

Bosbou is past Laboya bay, and just before the old UJ grounds (unfortunately don't have coordinates). Its quite a large venue but is not being regulated at the moment, therefore the ablution facilities that once stood there is just about destroyed. As it is not regulated and is standing open there is no entrance applicable. Keeping this in mind I would not fish there during the week, but definitely over weekends, as it is usually packed then!

Moving onto the fish side of things...

Its a great venue to fish with lots to offer. The majority of fish is small, with doubles being common at the venue. Having said that I have found that deeper casts do produce large fish as well. There is also some good grasscarp present at the venue throughout the year.

In winter I'd start of at 85 and 115 and change like the day leads me. In summer I'd fish 55 and 75.

Stick to plain feed, Twin Series works a treat. Dips to keep in mind would include devilsfork, fx, perdeby, rooi gp, shanana, looti, biddulphs, vicks and senties. Also remember your SA powder.

Hookbaits would mostly consist of floats (legend, bunspice 33 and brommers), swd, and worms in summer.
