Hi All,

Has anyone used either of these sticks, they are entry level and dont know which one to be used for shallow backline reef fishing

Elbe Huricane or Shimano Vengeance i think

Also, have a choice of a purglass boad road but the price is more than double

Would not even class the hurricane and vengance as vaguely similar. Hurricane is a much "heavier" rod that can be used with a kp or a std multiplier. the vengance is a grinder rod. depending on target species and type of reel u intend using will depend on the rod. if cuda etc, then hurricane. snoek shad etc then vengance.

so i presume that to hold onto a nice rockcod, the hurricane will be better ?

i use the hurricane good stick for bottom fishing ...biggest fish estimated 160kg so should hold a rockcod or seven

i paired my hurricane to a shimano TLD 25 i used this set up for 30 lb trolling and trap stick .... i have caught some decent gamefish (tummy.dorrie,couta) AND some big sharks.....if im not mistaken the elbe hurricane has a rod rating of 15-25 kg

so...ya....im sure it will be fine for bottom fishing...the components on the rod are quite strong,and the eyes are of good qualty ...

for bottom fishing get a 8" K.P and save up money for braid between 80-100lb....u wont go wrong
