Daiwa More than Branzino Hyper Custom or STella 3000 spooled with Sunline PE 2, matched to a Megabass XOR SilverShadow SSZ-75M....

You looking at about R 12000 plus for that set up....

You did say ultimate right? Realistic?? No... but Ultimate... defintely!!!

Something  a little more realistic on the rod front would be a G.Loomis Greenwater GWR981S....

Hello Nepps

Thought that this would interest you. You need to spend less time on the Japanese websites and get out on the water a bit.

There are so many nice outfits. Are we only allowed to choose one.

Here goes:

One for fishing off of the yak.

Shimano Trevala ML and Sustain 4000. 20lbs Jerry Brown. - My current Setup

Off the beach throwing small spoons, plugs and paddletails

Daiko Artesano Castasia Tidemark Series 100/10 and Stella 5000sw with 30 JB

My belief is that in the smaller reels 4000 and less is that the performance difference between Sustain/Stradic and Stella is very little. Not enough to warrant the exta ZAR. I have two Sustain 4000 each on the Trevala ML and I must say that it is tough to beat this outfit. I have landed 6kg Longtail tuna off the stones on mine.

Once one moves up in size the differences become more apparent and the Stella range comes into its own.

I thought the same thing when I saw this post, thought you might chip in...

Mate I can't read japanese... if I could, I think I'd probably have even more tackle!! :)
I wish I had the time to fish more... thankfully tackle sites are open 24/7 so I can peruse at midnight when I finish work!! :)

Must say I am inclined to agree with you on the 4000 and less size reels... although the thread topic said ultimate set up, so I threw the Branzino and Stella in there... I don't see the point of a Stella in sub 4000 sizes, but doesn't mean I wouldn't want one...
There are some guys in NZ who fish 2lb and 4lb braid when deep water plastics fishing, and nail snapper to over 10 kilos... I think one needs a supremely smooth drag when fishing like that, and one guy in particular over there swears by his Stella 1000 with 2lb Braid!!!

Gotta say that Trevala ML is an awesome stick, played with one on Warwicks boat a few weeks back, great light versatile set up...

Just check out that Daiko.... thats a sweet stick!!!

I use a Fenwick HMG combined with a Stradic 5000, spooled with 20 lb Power pro braid. Great for shore based spinning and for fishing off my kayak.

Can cast a mile and the Fenwicks got decent backbone, but is still nice and light.
