Hey Guys,

I was reading the paper the other day and the main article said that the fire that happened there recently where the loading tanker caught alight causing a number of tanks to burn and it further went on to read that the contents of the tanks were pumped into the bay. Scores of fish died due to the chemicals pumped into the water and that water samples had been taken and sent overseas for analaysis.

Can anybody shed any light on this matter

Is it safe to fish and eat fish from the harbour and surounding fishing spot ??????:dunno1

Hey Harry,

A few days afer the fire I read an article which said that the water quality was almost back to normal in the immediate vicinity of the fire.

I have fished in the harbour since then and caught and consumed fish with no problems.

I wish they'd let us start fishing in the bay again. Damn government. The ifp should start a protest for us fishermen and they can have my vote for sure. Now why can't the minister or the president love fishing then they'l organise the spots for us.Lol

Guess what?, the port captain has band all fishing in the harbour. From boat or wharf. There is some negoiations on about allowing certain areas to be fishable.

 

What next.

Harry and Khani, where are you fishing that you are not being nailed by the water wing in the Harbour.

There is a total fishing ban in the harbour at the moment, fishing clubs have motivated to fish between the banks and the main chanel boays.

I'm even wanting to trawl yasuris traces just to get out there.
