Hi Guys , I am dying to try this form of dropshot fishing in Cape town , Just cant find the right spots . Any suggestions as to where I can do some dropshot fishing in and arround Cape town.

Places you could try are Blakes Beach in the Strand off the reefs and also towards Gordens bay. There are a lot of gullies and spots. I have also heard some of the boys hitting the estuaries, Sandvlei, Milnerton Lagoon, Hermanus plaat, etc.

Being pretty new to this too I also battled with this question, hence the reason myself going to the ESA Comp on saterday at Blakes to check out the exact areas the more advanced guys fish off, and also to gather some info form the experienced guys.

But do yourself a favour and read through most of the posts as they are very informative. Also check the weather and time of year the guys fishes those areas.

Best thing to do is to try imagine what a worm would do... and then mimic that. Let it settle on the bottom, slow retrieve, with a few small flicks of the rod tip in between... ?? Otherwise, just let it drift around...

im right here reefman dat aint me.been on leave lol.had sucess with dropshot more so with the worm,berkley camo worm that is.had the best results with it by just allowing it to drift around.caught a few stone bream,banded galjoen,zebras and alot of big blacktails.it just takes alot of determination sum skil and alot of luck.tight lines guys
