Help with a good fishing spot

Greeting everybody.

Would firstly like to say that i am new to this forum so please forgive me if i posted this in the wrong place.

I have been surf fishing for as long as i can remember, but recently moved to johannesburg, in search of a better future - workwise. Unfortunately this means that no theres no more fishing off the beach:(

Can you guys please help me with good, Family safe, fresh water fishing spots around gauteng. I'm not fussy about types of fish, but just looking for a place where the fishing is good and where it is safe for me to take my family along.

I'm not from Gauteng but I would Highly recommend to find a place with bass... Not the big dams(big dams are fine but can be tricky and unsafe if you dont know them), but rather smaller private dams( look for places on google at e.g accommodation sites that has bass fishing listed)... These small dams usually offers plenty of bass fishing, which is an interactive & easy fishing for all ages... And also private owned dams would be the safest...

We as a family had exciting trips on very small dams, where everybody from age 6 to 60 caught fish...
Being freshwater fish we always released...

Would definately be worthwile to go for a weekend away at some self catering spot that offers fishing combined with a bit of bushveld or outdoors away from the city

Gnu top end of Malibongwe just over N14 if you are into flyfishing for Rainbows and Bass, all CAR , good fun clean facilities and child freindly.
