Help for Free State trails

Hello Guys,

I need some advise and guidance, I am fishing the fs trails for the first time in Bloemhof in Feb. Can any of you please give some pointers as to what is important regarding dips mutis set up etc?

the best way to get to know that piece of water is if you fish it for a few days and see what works when and in whitch conditions

the last time i had a comp there was on the sandveld side and i was getting carp/ yellows on the following

floats with swd top :dipped in almond
bottom :banjo and
fx on the bol
hope it helps but as i said the best way is to go and practise the water were you will be competing thats the 1st thing i normaly do when fishing new waters or even old waters that i havent visited in a long long time i am olso tryng to get new info regarding dips as well as swd ect

As Connas has mentioned , try out the dam , what works for others might not work for you .

when parctising the dam , try different spots  , different distances and baits and make note of them .

What i normally do when fishing Bloemhof , i would fish my 10ft rod between 60 & 80 and 12ft between 110 and 120 with a mielie for the bigger carps, while i get the tempo going with the 10ft.
