Guys please help me with this one, I am going to the witsand skins and I would really appreciate it if u guys would let me know where the best spots are and what baits for them and of course the species u will find there. And if u do know where a very good spot for lekker big kabeljou is please let me know where it is and the best bait.

Cheers and style Lynne for the next of your trips.

You just asked in one question what took some people many years to figure out... If you get a fruitful reply you are very lucky.

Start by searching this site for "witsand" (Budget a lot of time for this). Once you have the species and bait in the area, google them further. Then go to Google Earth and look at the area, slowly and carefully. Then go out and pattern the area with a rod and reel, keep a journal and take plenty of photos...

Good Luck, and post reports!

Flippie and others has posted loads and loads of info on Witsand before. Just search for Witsand and start reading.

Now that's a area that I'm also keen to explore. Drove on dirt road till we reached the little area which I think was vermaaklikheid, but then turned around as I wasn't sure if I knew where I was going.Saw plenty more dirt road in the distance
I'm interested in the little river. When weather is more stable I want to go explore the area.

The breede river is in full flood!so fish to be caught there, and I think the sea fishing is gonna be a bit on the slow side too with all that fresh water that's coming down. and puntjie is private propperty, you need to be invited there by one of the land oweners.no public access.

Boat fishing around puntjie is good for cob and reef fish, fresh sardine and chokka, best baits!

You can target black mussel cracker on the deeper reefs, but not white mussel cracker, they prefer shallow working waters close to shore. I don't know if launching threw the duiwenhoks river is such a good idea!stick to witsands, they have good slips and the mouth isn't that bad.
