Gunning for Grunter on Drop Shot @ Die Eiland/Great Brak River Mond

Howzit guys,

So me and a mate of mine went for a few casts at die eiland right at the mouth of the great brak river...

Have fished there a couple of times with bait and picked up some grunter on pilchar, river clams, prawn and klipvis!

Ok so we went at 6pm and high tide was at 8pm last night so the water was making it's way in - not a heavy stroom. Our mission was to try and get a grunter on dropshot!!

When we got there we could see a lot of fish activity in the hole below as in picture, but the buggers just looked past my camo worm of all different shapes and sizes... I was trying drift method, slow retrieve etc etc... I saw a lot of fish, some by the looks 70cm + but no takers. Grunter swam like 2 - 3 meter beside me at times haha



Now my question is what were we doing wrong to not get hookups?

Please ask questions...

Would love to catch one of those botjies, so any help would be apreciated!!! Will take some more pics maybe later today of the spot!!!

Where do you park your car when fishing there.Those island people are difficult.

Might be there December for a day or so-I am in Stilbaai this year.

Hope you get your fish and try for leeries as well.

Usually park at the tennis court parkin or other side of the mouth at the beach parking
