Grinder Setup Advice

Hi Sealiners,

I need some advice regarding a grinder setup I want to buy. The setup will be used to target edibles (kob, steenbras) of the beach but also some smaller ineds (spotted gully sharks, diamond rays, maybe a raggie...) I have researched quite a bit here on Sealine but still not 100% sure what I should get. I want to buy once and buy right.

What I am pretty sure about is the reel – I am looking to get a Saragosa 10000.

What I need advice with is a rod - My requirements here are:
Length: 14ft
Cast weight: Around 6 - 7 oz
Guides: Good quality braid ready – preferably fuji K-series
Other: Bionic finger, low reel seat position.
If possible I want something that throws pretty easy (if that’s possible haha…)
So far I have been considering the Okuma Maikara 14,6ft and the Blue Marlin SuperSlim 60/50/430 or 80/50/430.
Questions I have is the following:
What other options are there to consider and what would you recommend?
What guides come standard on the SuperSlim rods?
How much would it approximately cost to have a SuperSlim blank built from scratch with Fuji reel seat, k-series guides and a bionic finger?

Thanks!

I have the saragosa 10000sw and have paired this with a Assassin horizon xh (not xxh). Beautiful set up and casts a great distance. I use this set-up for scratching at times and can still pull out big flat fish.

What is your budget.

A custom rod with k-series guides, bionic vinger and fuji real seat would set you back at +/- R5500

The rod that PSY has is a very good option to consider

Thanks for the replies guys!

After having posted the topic, I sent Enigma a mail to get an idea how much the custom route would cost me and decided to save up a bit till the start of the next summer season before buying.

Good choice. Now you get something made up like you want it. What option are you going for if I may ask in the blank. Blue Marlin,?dc oval?

The 5-7oz dc oval has awesome pulling power but you can not go wrong with a bm ss.

I have a couple of bm and a dc oval and planning on getting a bm ss
