Holy smokes that's a big Hoo !

What is the best time of year for diving up Richards Bay way for getting a good weather window ? Would like to do a trip up possibly next year for a week.

That is a bus wahoo! I think that must be the 3rd wahoo of 42kgs in the last 2-3 months.I think the other 2 came out a Vidal.

Classic wahoo shot near the tail where it doesn't pull out easily.Must have taken off like a rocket!

And to think that Brod got one of 44kgs on a shore dive!

Fantastic fish, both! Interesting comment that you made regarding shot placement, roryf. We don't get much chance to shoot these powerful fish in the Cape (except for tunny and yellowtail) so I place most of my shots just behind the gill plate on the spine.

From the looks of things this guy has shot some absolute beasts! Love seeing pics like this, just pumps me for the next time I'm in the water. Well done to the guy

Hi guys, you must remember that Allan holds the world record for sailfish and Johan (other guy in kob pic) holds the SA record for a yellow belly at 17.6kg and represented SA in tahiti. Both awesome to dive with and are in a different league.
