Good spots in MOZ

We normally go to Moz in July and would like to visit an area or lodge that we have not been to. We have mostly been to Inhambanne area.

ANY Suggestions?

We will be taking a jetski and a fairly big boat so the roads must not be to bad.

The launch must also be reasonable as we take our kids with us on the boat.

THE FISHING MUST BE GOOD.

Try Chidenguele, Mark and Zelda @ Sera Lodge. A lot closer than Inhambane and the fishing is great.

@ TCF Fishing up north in July is good. Added bonus is that it is warm and you can swim and enjoy the beach. PS Dont tell anyone!!!!!

@ Atlazt. Thanx i will contact them. How is the launch site?

Beach access not too bad, normal to easy launch. Talk to Mark he has his own charter, goes out regularly.

I've been to Demares resort which is a stones throw from Sera Lodge and the launch isn't great, its straight into a shorebreak and there is no bay. In perfect conditions is fairly simple but as soon as the swell picks up a bit it can get difficult.

Have a look at Zavora, never been there but heard there is a nice bay to make launching easy. I usually go to Guinjata.

I agree with Greedyfly, no bay at Chidenguele, its a straight shore launch, what helps, is the reef parrallel to the shore about 700m in. I usually launch South of Sera Lodge (wide beach firm sand)halfway to Parahiso de Chidenguele Lodge ( owned by Quinton Coetzee from Veldfokus fame) Zavora has a easy launch, lots of locals go out with their row jobs as well as the divers, about 1Km south of the lodge. The shore takes quite a bashing at sping tide and beach access from and to the lodge can be a problem, phone ahead. Personally have never been really successful at Zavora (Probably slept too late). At Zavora, keep an eye open for the locals` nets.

I would recomend Zavora.

I have fished there atleast 3 times a year for the last 10 years and will be going down again over easter.

The launch is very easy and will pose no problems if you are planning on taking out the kids.

As for the fishing in June you can expect plenty of Snoek, Cuda, Yellowfin, Wahoo and there is usually quite a few Sailfish around as well.

With the Jetski I would reccomend working the bay area down to the lighthouse and from there you can head down south to the Macanza bay..There should be plenty of snoek in this area in the early morning. (The seceret is early morning, you need to try and get out there before the sun comes up) You can also just hang around the locals as they normally do quite well just off the bay area.

When fishing off the boat I would also reccomend running down to Macanza in the morning and from there shoot out to the deeper reefs when the fishing starts to slow down.
