Noob question for the day - How do I ensure that the braided piece I feedback into lead core does not slip out?

I see people using super glue.

Double it back on itself .....Pull the needle out before the tag end making it double

Basspro showed me how to do it and if you do it like that, you don't need any glue. By the way there is only one tipe of noob in fishing. It's the person that doesn't know, and then do it they're own way and end up hurting the fish. If you ask then in my opinion your are as far from a noob as you can be!

Ensure your have 2.5cm minimum of splice and you should not have an issue. I splice mine at 3.5cm and have never had a splice come loose. Pull with tension bars and you will see it stays.

Got myself some "Docks" lead core and I can ensure you that this material is unsplicable.

Even the included splicing needle doesn't even come close to fitting through the center , tried everything conceivable no luck.

Maybe a dud batch.

Did you remove the lead in the section you want to splice?

Yep - The outer braid is to narrow even for an clothing needle pin.

Splicing is tough when you're new to it, once you get the hang of it it's a breeze.

agree with Hennie,definitely not the easiest part of rig building when you're new to it.once you get the hang of it,it goes quick.i use to fish docks leadcore all the time,never had issues splicing it.now exclusively use liquid core or non leadcore leaders.which in my opinion is even more difficult to splice in the beginning.keep at it,you'll get there.

The needle Docks supplied with the leadcore is thinker than the actual leadcore - I've tried teasing the braid to be more loose and fluffy no luck.

The leadcore on Youtube I've seen over the weekend seems much more thicker than myne and much easier to splice.

I will try and find a thinner needle see if that helps.

Henkor sells Climax needles - very thin so be careful. It's the only one i really use
