GOLIATH TIGER FISH IN THE CONGO anyone keen.

Hi Guys

I have been asked a lot lately about goliath tiger fish in west africa .As some of you know we hunt up there and have some mates up there as well.

Anyway yesterday i called a friend who has a river home and operates up there ( thanks to skype) and asked a few questions. It all sounds promising and great including the accomodation however we need to charter out to the area that does not sound cheap/. Fishing apparently is awesome along with goliath are large bream and barbel as well as some that i could pronounce yet alone spell..

Ok so what i am asking is there anyone interested in doing this trip for the experience and for the chance to whack a goliath or two. It would be a exploratory trip and i will plan it for the best season next year.

Let me know or pm me and i will set up a file and send out news to everyone everytime there is a update and or prices become involved and costs per person etc. Flights there and back , how long etc will be discussed and how many guys can go.

Know some guys that went just recently - cost them an arm and a leg and they hit a blank - but hey that's why it is called fishing.

Anyone interested in going to Ginneau Bissau in search of Giant Tarpon and huge Cubera's? Airticket in the region of 12K????

Hey GL.

That is just for the air ticket - they work in Euro's so I expect a week with flights etc all incl will be in the region of 20K (excluding visa's etc)

I'm hitting Mads in December again going off to some unknown atoll called Nosy Mitso - camping on the islands -expect to pay in the region of 10-12k all incl.

Hi dudes

Ok good news first peacock bass mania has hit with the articles i wrote in ESA (some people do not like i know) .

Hunting was good in the cameroon and the like:

I can fly to Sao Paulo BRAZIL for  R 5k with taxes, guinea sounds silly steep do they reroute through Lagos would like to know.

Look to be honest posted this a while back did not get too much respose so just left it. 

I would do it this way everyone buys their own chow and bait etc we stay for free at my mates place just supply him enough beer to stay blitzed for the time we are there as it is his own place. We can either drive out there takes four hours or fly charter in a 206 takes 1 hour 30 mins then stay there for a week cause that keeps tix cheap.

Look i will do it if you guys are keen we must just plan a budget (basically what you can afford 8 k 10 k  or whatever and we try from there and remember not to go in the flood season that's why everyone draws blanks. christmas up there is rainy season boys must go later start around may june and further up river where the dudes cannot get with nets.

  On safari until 16th March then will start working on it all and get a price.

Enjoy hunt & give us details for June '08. I aint keen to fly 90 mins if drive is only 4 hrs. i try avoid flip flop pilots

Suppose you must have seen this already? I fished plenty in the Okavango and Zambezi for Tigers and can oonly imagine what a baby like this would do to your tackle!!!

gents i have just returned from the DRC and had a wonderful time fishing for the Goliath. 5 fish between 7 and 16.5kg where caught on the trip. the fishing was really hard due to the congo river being in semi flood and alot of hysinth and grass comming down the river. have packages up there if anybody keen.
