Garmin way points

Advice Please?

I have Garmin way points and would now like to buy a lowrance GPS.can I transfer my way points?

they are in a .gbs file

Yes you can. Do the google thing for programs like GPSBabel and GPS utility.

1. Connect Garmin to PC running MapSource
2. Click on 'Receive from Device'
3. Save File As (give it a name and put it in a folder you will remember) example c:/desktop/my gps/xxxxxx.gdb
4. Download a Waypoint/Track Editor such as GPS Utilities at www.gpsu.co.uk (100 waypoint limit on free version) or GPS TrackMaker www.gpstm.com (no limit)
5. Start waypoint/track editor
6. Open xxxxxx.gdb
7. Save File As and select Lowrance .usr from 'File Type' drop down menu.
8. Save this file xxxxxx.usr to an SD card
9. Insert card into Lowrance
10. LMS, LCX Legend Series:-
a. MENU - MENU - SYSTEM - TRANSFER DATA - LOAD - ENTER
11. HDS:-
a. PAGES - UTILITIES - FILES - SELECT xxxxxx.usr - IMPORT.
