I’m looking at electronics for our new boat and have narrowed it down to either the Garmin 5000 series (most likely the 12" touch screen) or the Lowrance HDS 10. We have always had Lowrance but the Garmin comes in considerably cheaper.
Does anyone have experience with these units? Besides the bigger screen on the Garmin what are the advantages of the one over the other? I'm not too interested in the side scan of the Lowrance. I know Garmin has the edge when it comes to user friendliness and its maps, but how does it compare in terms of its fish finder?
