:fbash
Of hy het vergeet waar hy begin het...
:fbash:fbash:fbashJulle manne tender...hahahaha-julle tyd kom nog.
Maar Bevid, wees nou eerlik-ek het dieselfde afstand by Sisters geloop as julle jonges.

Nice lawn!
Now what you need is some earthworm tea/ vermitea/ erdwurm p!ss. Try to get the fresh stuff, not the what they sell in the gardening shops. This stuff will put all the good microbes in the soil and then start using something like Bounce Back or Rapid Raiser for the fertilizer. A healthy, vibrant lawn is more drought and disease resistant. Last 2 years I bought 70000L for the farm and you can't believe the difference it makes to the vines. My neighbours are having big problems with various fungi, and they spray like the clappers. We hardly spray but try to keep as healthy soil as possible.
Jaques,
Is jy miskien van Ashton kelders?

nice topic.. keep it coming as my lawn needs a bit extra vooma after these two weeks of very hot weather we sometimes had.. would like some extra pointers but gonna give these a try as well.. looking at adding lawn seeds after the garden fork has done some work to crappy sand i have.. water dont seep in and kinda oily

whilst on the topic and a bit off course i know.. if i may ask a question regarding seeds and pot plants.. i bought a pack of about 10 red dragon fruit seeds from the states and filled a pot with potting soil and lightly covered the seeds but they didn't grow.

this fruit really caught my imagination and i was hoping it will grow quickly.. ,locally only the white dragon fruit available and not a local species as its of asian origin with the red being more sweet of the white/yellow/red that are found.

if anyone has grown this fruit successfully or know someone that has i'd appreciate some pointers on this delicacy.. or just general pointers to how you grew your seeds to plants.

a pic of the fruit.

bureau, buffalo or kikuyi?

buffalo u dont have to water regularly and bureau but Kikuyi u have to water regularly.

also u have to spit your grass to create air pockets. like Jaquesdw advise bounce back is good as my cousing used this with his lawn which is about 150sqm's. i prefer lan and a nice compost as u dont have to water as much.

Big lawns are fun but also hard work

in general i cut back every 2 years, in the month of september i will cut it as short as possible, yes basically all of, you will have a lot of grass so sny sonder die bak en hark dit in sakke in
hier sukkel n elektriese grasnyer baie so in petrol een is die beter opsie, koop dan KAN by Nitrofoska, dis goedkoper as by meeste plekke want hulle verkoop aan neeste plekke

Sal bietjie later pics post

Grass on my farm

We had hectares to maintain in and amongs new plantings. So first the tractor and slasher, then with a brushcutter.

45cc brushcutter just the answer...quick and virtually effortless. I bought a new one each year...best piece of equipment on the whole farm!
