Basslover and I are going "pond crawling" tomorow. We will start at the "Groen Gat" and if fishing there is k@k we will move on to Vaal river or Varsity Dam.

We will only meet at about 8'oclock and lauch the tubes there after. Dont know if anybody wants to join us in catching those winter monsters!!!

No its open to the public.

I went there once before. I was learning to cast a fly rod at this dam and saw some nice bass come out. its aimed at dog walkers but there are about 3 or 4 dams in this area. I'm not sure if those dams are private but the one i fished at was open to the public. its a R15 entrance fee. its quite a small dam but has great structure.

The place is called walk haven. check out the website http://www.walkhaven.co.za/

on the email you see dogs swimming in 1 dam. thats where i fished but further on there are 3-4 dams.

I know the owner wanted to start a sindicate/membership regarding the dams. I am not sure if that is in place yet.

regards
