I've done a lot of work here on jetskis, mods etc. and I know my way around standups and sitdowns but you need to tell me what you think will work for storing the catch. From the little I've seen and I could be wrong but it looks like the bag sits where your feet should be. I'm certain I could design something that could maybe improve the current situation. Hell, I'll do whatever it takes to get my teeth into a project like this. You just tell me what you need.Hi Tuaruck
It would be nice if a jetski had a compartment where you could store the fish. The bag is working well as it can be removed easily when washing the ski. There is a storage compartment in the nose that is fairly big but you do not want to open it when heading into the wind in a choppy sea. You can easily take water on.
I have forgotten my jetski bag going to Ponta once and actually used a folding chair bag as replacement. It also work as you can tie the carry strap onto the ski. The cuta I placed in it was a bit big but it still kept the tooth away from my feet. I have removed the zip from my ski-bag and replaced it with velcro.
Are you planning to make something as a fish hatch as I saw you are very handy with fibreglass work under the surfski section.
Cheers
Lekker, Ek sal wag. Dankie.Hi Tauruck
Sorry I was out of town for a couple of days and could not reply earlier. I think most are the guys are happy with the fish bag as it is easy removable, very light and do not make the ski unstable. I hoped that there would come up some fresh ideas from other jetski fisherman but it seems everybody is happy with the bags.
What about other utensils that is needed on jetskis and boats. I have seen this weekend on Bennie Jordaans boat that he has a baitboard out of plastic which he fits onto a rodholder and just slides it into the holder. Most jetskis has a safety bottle holder on the back with rod holders. The bait board can just be attached onto the rod holder. There maybe other fittings that other guys may like to have on the boats or jetskis. Let us find out.
Cheers
Thanks, checked it out. Good ideas. Doable stuff but if I were them I'd have used better material. CSM has no durability. Just my 2c.check out http://jetskifishing.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=1 I reckon it would be cool to have rear bin and lidon the fx140 or 160 that can be used for storage instead of the seat
