I have an Explorer V-Boat float tube and the webbing seems to be deteriorating. Literally falling apart! I have included photos of my brother-in-law’s tube as it is a more recent model but is doing the same thing. His tube is about 6 years old but has only been used 14 times and that includes this past weekend. The fabric is still in good condition and has not faded much like my one. His webbing is however worse. The webbing straps on both sides of the stabilising bar have disintegrated in a similar manner as one of mine. In addition, the webbing of both back support straps in disintegrating. It appears as if the lateral weave is more prone to the deterioration than the longitudinal strands. In the photos one can see the black particles left on the tube and on my fingers after touching the webbing.
