Epoxy Clear Coat

HI Guys

Anyone use it and which brand do you guys use? I see NCS has some stuff but not sure which one to take. I want to get that hard glossy finish on some of my lures

Why you wanna use epoxy? Is it harder/tougher than say 2k clear? Also, will you apply it the same way as say when you use something like flexcoat on rod eyes (meaning you have to keep turning the lure till curing has taken place)?

Sorry didn't say why I'm asking, I made a finch from wood some time ago and it got smacked several times  (one instance the same bass took it three times in a row, rear trebble was too small) but after a days fishing it tends to seem as if it takes on water as it sits lower in the water than on the first cast and yes I had it soaked in thinned out floor epoxy for two days prior to it getiing it's paint job, also finished it off with 2k clear.

the commercial lures are finished in the stuff and in my opinion its tougher than 2k clear. i got a lathe now for a steal i had some popper blanks i painted i put some 2k clear down the throughwire section and primered and painted. to note i clear after every color and finish with 3 coats of clear.

Try and get some Frog Juice, it's a multi-purpose clear coat that is UV resistant and is designed to be used with computer cut signage materials, over digital printing and it dries very quickly.

I use the stuff to clear coat all my Dital Printing to extend it's life outdoors, especially along the coast. I Just pour it on the sign and then using a roller, spread it out.

Try BASF's polyurethane clear, its used like a normal 2k but is a bit tougher than even the best 2k clears, dries quicker and at little over a R100 for a liter clear and hardener (they don't do a 1/2 liter hardener for some inexplicable reason) its cheaper than most of the "cheap and nasties" on the market! The only drawback is that its rather thick so won't go down well with an airbrush if thats what ure using.

yeah I am using that unfortunately. I'm thinking of using surboard clear epoxy. Its cheap and UV resistant and I can get it in small quantities
