OK get yourself some paddle tails, 4" and 2-3 Oz jig heads. Paddle tails are much easier to work and are good for dirtier water. Colours Yellow or white, but I prefer yellow!
Then the spot! Go to the containers / Barge and work them there. First try dropping them right to the bottom, then whipping them up from the bottom. You can also try a fast retrieve. As fast as you can just twitching the rod tip. These spots are full of shad and Bonnies and they will be fun on light tackle. But mostly by playing with these species that are full up you will get a good feel for how to work the minnow. + you never know what else is around!!!

OH and if you not comming right, try chokka! I've mad a tail from chokka, long...
What I do is go with 3Oz jig head and fishing over 25m water, I cast it 25-35m up current and let it come back under the boat by it's own weight with the help from the current.. Caught many big bream this way.

Guaranteed fish there... well almost, but never fails me.But make sure you get down and work it up from the bottom. Don't bother casting it but rather work it like a jig.
