Drieskoppies Dam

Hi Guys,

A group of us are going on a tiger fishing trip to Komatipoort next weekend. we are leaving early thursday morning from JHB.

We have planned to stay thursday night in kruger park due to the fact that some of the guys are keen wildlife photographers.

I was thinking of going to Driekoppies dam on the thursday to do a bit of bass fishing while the other guys look at tourists, but i am not sure on a few things.

My questions are:

Is Driekoppies Dam close to the Numbi gate of Kruger Park?

And

Can you fish for bass from the banks at Driekoppies? (any hippos to watch out for?)

And

Can anyone enter the dam and, if so, what are the costs?

I would really appreciate any info that you guys may have.

NOPE, MALELANE GATE. AND THE DAM IS ABOUT 50km FROM THE TURN-OFF AT MALELANE GATE. SIGN JUST AS YOU APPROACH JEPPE'S REEF SHOWING THE WAY TO THE DAM.
And

Can you fish for bass from the banks at Driekoppies? (any hippos to watch out for?)YOU CAN, THIS PLACEISNEAR THE DAM WALL, BUT IT'S NOT THE BEST BANK FISHING VENUE. HIPPOS AND CROCS ARE MORE TOWARDS THE RIVER SECTION ABOUT 8km FURTHER IN.

PLUS DRIEKOPPIES DAM IS ABOUT 150KM FROM NUMBI GATE/ HAZYVIEW.

And

Can anyone enter the dam and, if so, what are the costs?
YES, ANYONE. WE WERE 2 IN A CAR + BOAT ANDIT COST US R80.

I would really appreciate any info that you guys may have.

IF I WERE YOU I WOULD GET HOLD OF A GUY CALLED PAUL AT NABANA LODGE IN HAZYVIEW, HE WILL TELL YOU WHAT VENUES YOU CAN TRY FOR BANK FISHING, THERE ARE PLEEEENNNTTTYYY VENUES AROUND.

IF YOU ARE NEAR NUMBI GATE, YOUR BEST BET IS DAGAMA DAM OR KLIPKOPJES DAM, YOU GO PAST BOTH DAMS WHEN YOU GO TOWARDS SABIE.

Greetings
Anybody tried for Tiger fish in Driekoppies dam? Seems like there is good tiger fishing down stream from the dam!
