Hi everyone. Please donate your expired flares to be used for farm security.
In the past two months in the Winterton area 7 farm attacks occurred with one farmer bieng murdered.I attache a message from last night.
Ok, there seem to be a bit of a crime or lawless trend in the central berg, according to crime intelegance it could be linked to a few factors, which lm not gonna discuss on thisi platform, a farm manager was approached after dark and was questioned regarding the sale of goats, they were asked to return tomorrow morning and as he walked away a knife was produced and the manager was stabbed in the hand, the manager managed to get to his firearm and a shot was fired. A call for assistance was put out and myself and VCAT responded, aswell as a number of persons on this platform, this is a bit where l have a concern! Yes, where a person calls for help we must assist, but, what r u responding to? If it is an attack the closest neighbours should respond, never by themselves but with a backup. If it is a attack then VCAT will also respond, this is a group of 12 farmers belonging to the Winterton farmers association that has received training in this regard, bullet proof vests are worn and all have been trained in first aid. They will also always inform the local SAPS when they respond and do night patrols on most of the district roads, they constantly spend most of their free time training at no remuneration, l was invited to join this group and as Head Disaster Management and Emergency Services for the local municipality, i feel it as my duty to attend all emergency calls in my area of jurisdiction. So yes, help each other but be carefull what u gonna walk into when u get there. Freddie
