i'v noticed better catches when fishing with springs instead of the orange/neon green bom holders, is it the bom holders that make this difference or could it be something else? going to island shores this weekend and really wanna catch a decent amount need to know if this could be the difference...
do brightly coloured bom holders make a diff?

A neon/orange thing lying on the bottom can probably look very unnatural. The spring ones are more of a grey-ish colour, so I dont' think they are so clear to see.

,You know, I have been using this torpedo( Orange one) for a few years now and always had good catches.The only reason I am useing them is that it actually torpedos up to the surface when reeling in.This helps with getting hooked on something at the bottom.This is the only reason why I dont like to catch with a weight.
Just the other day I started wondering if the colour could chase the fish.Never thought of it! I found the same torpedo at WA, but it is like a light seetrough colour.
Will see if this actually works better.

I prefer to use sinker only for 2 reasons:
1 I have a thing about end tackle being as light and invisible as possible. Although I often wonder how much a carp sees in a couple of metres of brown water.
2 Bomb on a sinker all stays behind so each time I reel in the feed remains behind which replenishes the feed spot.
I do have a few wire traces made up in case for some reason my bomb does not stick too well.

I use the baitfeeder or springs as my casting is better with it. Its probably all in the mind, but I dont want to rebait 5 - 6 times a day if I'm casting bad, with a spring I never loose the bol.
I use the torpedo springs and its very light so your presentation will still be sensitive enough to get the fish.

it was some thing that also i used to worry aboout thats why i use the metal springs hoping that they will be less vissible to to fish.
i have a problem with the bomb flying off with the sinker alone... so thats why the spring is easier for me..
