Good Day All

I have a fishing comp at College Farms this weekend. Just my luck that a cold front has arrived.

Any advise as to what baits to try or where to sit if you have been there?

Thanks

Hi this is my first post on the forum, we fished there last weekend the fish took on allmost anything but peach and pink sweets worked the best. Hope this helps a bit.

I suggest you start early in the morning with OBS and when that delivers results you can go over to Klippies or a good Wizzo.......you are going to need it  ;) good luck.

Good morning Nick

My club have our club comp tomorrow at leeuplaas also on the vaal. I'm missing that one due to exams I'm writing tomorrow.

What I can say however is that if I fished tomorrow, I would have started deep from the word go, and stayed there! Also, let your baits lie longer than normal!

Best of luck, and looking forward to your report!

Hi All

It was a cold cold start to the morning with about the 1st meter of water frozen. 1st task was to start a fire and boil water so that my hands didnt freeze when i baited up. we started at 7, on one rod put a fx bollie and the other rod plain dough with floaties (tried all different flavors during the cause of the day). managed to pick up a 2.25kg carp on the fx bollie at around 8:30 and had a few other knockes on the bollies during the day but due to errors on my side i missed about 3 fish. nothing was taking the dough.

the group next to me had one gent catch 4 muddies on almond floaties and sweet dough backing with almond flavor and lost one putting the fish into the net (moral is always take ur keep net out of the water to add a fish.

over all out of +-20 anglers only 6 of us caught with one person getting 6 in total and biggest fish been a 2.3 kg carp. not very productive.

when fishing a collage fish in front of the farm house far left ( by the long drops) water seems deep) 300m to the right it become very shallow with the people there been able to wade out +- 120m and not getting deeper that their knees.
