Cleaning up a spot before fishing?

Hi Guys

This might sound like a really weird question but i have to ask. Has anyone ever rocked up to their favourite fishing spot only to find that it is covered with weeds and tall grass? This has been happening to me recently due to the rains and i was wondering what would be the quickest solution to clear this foliage?

I have a slasher but it doesnt work well. I was thinking of getting a petrol trimmer - but it is so pricy. Any ideas guys? Help :vvphov

Not unless you have permission. Nature should be respected and you should leave a site as much as you found it. Swim maintenance should be the task of the resort management. Trimming a little grass is just the tip of the iceberg (then some branches/trees being trimmed, etc). If everybody does it, how will the banks look like in the end?

Also consider other anglers and noise pollution... how would you like it if you're having a nice quite morning on the bank and somebody pulls into the neighboring swim and starts up a petrol weedeater?
