Carp Natal

Hi guys

I wonder does anyone know of a dam around the durban area where the are excellent catches of carp.

Now that i can't take the lighty fishing in durban harbour anymore (thanks to durban port authority) I'm looking to entertain the guppie elswhere.

Your assistance would be very much appreciated.

Also some good carp bait to use would be apprciated.

Albert falls, Inanda, Midmar - you are really quite spoilt for choice in and around Durban and PM.

Sorry bud I only fish there 2 days a year when we have artlure Leauge there. So I know those species are there but I know not of the small dams and dams in the immediate vicinity of Durban.

I've been to Hazelmere dam but only caught a suntan and a headache from all the water ski boats and jet skis.

I will head off to Inanda next and attempt get the guppie into some decent sized carp

The wifes not happy because the household tends to get negelected over the weekends.

ESA has got him all reved up and ready to catch the big on.

God you don't want to know how much i spend on tackle for guppie.

I only hope our natal dams are as well stocked as your inland dams.

I've fished in the vaal dam a hell of a long time ago and caught plenty carp.

Boet that is where you are so wrong - natal dams are way better than inland dams.

Off the top of my head I cannot even name a single dam up here that could match the worst Natal dam.

I live in Pretoria but fish Natal Leauge - Why? Cause the fishing is so crap in the sess pools we call dams around gauteng.

Why do natal dams get such poor reports - cause Natalians are so spoilt that they just continue fishing the same dams over and over and we have to drive 200km to find some semi decent waters.

I would choose any natal dam over any inland dam anyday of the week.

Enjoy them for us poor buggers whom live in the big smoke..........
