Help. Thanks for the pictures of sliding rietvlei traces.
I notice that some examples have the gummy below the swivel going to the top hook, this means that when it is cast in the top hook will slide up the trace away from the bomb.The others have the gummy above the swivel going to the top hook which means that the top hook can't slide away from the bomb when cast in. Which is better?
Instead of a gummy one can just tie a knot in the trace line to do the same thing which is cheaper or is it good to use the gummy because it can be adjusted.

The way I understand it, is that the gummy will slide anyway. Will not prevent the hook staying closer to the bomb. If I understand you correctly.

A way you can keep the top hook closer to the bomb, is by putting a bit of swd on the line, above the top hook swivel. This will prevent the top hook sliding to far away from the bomb.

Dankie vir jou antwoord.
Ek hengel met 4kg lyn. Daardie gedeelte van my trens is van 7kg lyn gemaak, n knoop sal wel die lyn verswak maar ek glo nie onder 4kg nie.

My skag lyn is omtrent 12kg en my hoeklyn is omtrent 4.5kg.

'n Gummi stop gaan nie teen die lyn op gly met die gooi nie. Dit sal keer dat die boonste hoek teen die skag lyn op gly.

Ek stel voor dat jy liewer net met een hoek vang. Dis veiliger vir die vis, jy het nie 'n 2de hoek wat kan vashaak nie en ek het in my kompetisie jare 99% van my vis op die ondrste hoekie gevang so jy mis nie uit op 'n ekstra vis nie.

Dis waat wat Stefan se , som mense sal se eks mal ( dalk is ek vir verskeie redes) selfs tydens kompetisies vang ek met en hoek net my persoonlike voorkeur

Thanks Waldok, Its amazing. Your suggestion is simple but I am sure it will work perfectly. I will try it on this next Saturday when we go to Albert falls for a prcatice before our next league. Do you have any other hot tips.
I see that your best fish is a 5kg mussel cracker. Now that fish can pull. I got one of 10kg the other night in 60m of water when I was targeting Geelbek. I thought I had 2 geelbek on.
