Very nice! How does the carbon compare with the fiberglass yaks? Why don't the build them in carbon over here?

Hi van when we 1st took out both the glass and carbon pinnie's we wanted to see what other differences were between the too other than it being alot lighter and blingi.
We noticed it was alot more easier to paddle the glide time was alot more and when the wind changed and got up to 20 knots gusting 25 knots head on in the afternoon so we headed bak inshore the carbon left it for dead not forgetting we swapped kayaks during the test in the exact same conditions.
This test was a good 8hrs on and of the water my mate is convinced its quicker just cost more he wants me to put an order in for Carbon pinnie for himself now.

Van they build them on request just get hold of cliff.

Hi guys carbon is great, but needs to be handled with care. I have restored a carbon Evo 465 that was smoked by a mate behind me, when a foamy dropped him lightly onto some reef. I had a glass fibre sheath put on the bottom and the repairer found 9 other cracks in the hull.

I use the repaired ski as well as a fibre glass Evo 495 and find the light weight of the carbon great, but in big winds starts to feel like it bobs around a bit - as opposed to the glass fibre 495 that is heavier and seems to sit better in the water.

If you want a carbon ski in SA Stealth (and I am sure Pinnacle) will make you one at a price! But having said that the new ranges like the Stealth Profisha series that are being built with a glass fibre composite are so light that they are close to the properties of a carbon ski, and are far more durable.
