Hey there - anyone know what conditions Cape Hangklip works off? Like what does it need to be doing there for a few days for good diving conditions to be had?

Thanks!::S

I havent really dived there so not sure but should work on a light nw or sw? Keep a look out for sharks as i have heard some stories.

If you take the pringle turnoff and turn down, going past hangklip, u get onto a gravel road. Take this gravel road down to a marine farm where the road ends. Theres a little sand trail that goes right toward the sea, that is difficult to take on without a 4x4.

When u get over the dunes, you'll see the slipway about a km to your right. From the slipway all the way to the rocks in front iv dived once or twice, but not relly any results. To the left however, is a lot of kelp as well and ive had some great results, shot a Cracker and John Brown there as well as some smaller hotties. Its a little walk along to the spot, along the beach.

Betties also has some good spearing, but you'll have to drive all the way around again to get there.

Heres a pic of the 3,2 kg cracker and 4,3 kg John Brown

Hi KFR,

Welcome to Sealine, I would love to see the photof the John Brown.  Out of interest, the current SA record for John Brown is 3.6 kilos shot by Tommy Botha, so you may have missed an opportunity with that fish of yours.  When did you shoot it?

Cheers,

Tony
