Buying a boat

Hi Guys

I want to buy a boat but before I buy it I would like to take it out and test everything. Obviously I do not want to go for the whole buoyancy thing and skippers license if I am not going to buy the boat.
I want to take the boat to Loskop this weekend to test it out, I spoke to the guys at loskop and they seem to be fine but they say if the police stop you it's your problem. I would like to know what legal implications there will be if I do happen to be stopped. Obviously if it’s a fine then it's ok but I don’t want the boat to be confiscated or something.
Can anyone give me some info on this?

ma rather get a licence and test the boat in your pool. and you dont need a lic under I think 4hp but you probably dont like to sukkel like us haha. But if you want to go and just test the boat get a person with a lic to go with you then you should not have any trouble.
