BREEDE RIVER

I am going to the Breede River for the firs time at the end of the month. Could anybody give me some information where I could get a Breede River permit for my boat.

I'll be staying at  Breede Riverine on Infanta side of the river near Malgas. I'll be coming from Caledon side on the N2 and take the Malgas/Infanta gravel road turnoff just before Swellendam. Where is the closes place to get the permit?

Hiya,

Just an idea.......when I went to Infanta, we took the route through Bredasdorp. Apparently the gravel road that way is in much better condition, and a few kms shorter.

Take the Malgas turnoff from the dirt road (right opposite the Breede River Trading Post) towards the river, it will become a tar road for about 1km, turn left at the fork adn pick up your boat license from the Malgas Hotel, sommer fill your boat at their petrol pumps, but the rivirene has petrol pumps though. I am not dead sure, but I think Hendrie at the riverine also does boat licenses, but i always get mine from the hotel. Driving through bredasdorp takes a bit longer, sometimes that road is better, but it is a extra 17km of dirt road and the dirt road from swellendam has just been scraped. Enjoy it, heaven on earth!

Thanks everyone for the much needed information. It helped me a big lot.

Been away from home for 2 months and now try and combine my fishing and treating the wife a little by taking her to the Breede River. From all the information I got on Sealine the Breede sounds like a good idea for my combination.

when were you there? we went down in end of sept and the gravel road was beyond K@K they were working on it and you spend an hour bouncing all over the car plus the limit on the gravel road is 60kph
