Hi Earl

I tried dps at Witsands about two years ago.  landed a few stumps and a grunter.  Walked about half a km down river.  Used the prawn and camo worm.  A popular spot is the wooden jetty and the channel that runs in front of it to the mouth

Another nice spot for kob and grunter is Groenpunt.  Looks good for elf, kob and leeries but its a @#$% long walk down stream.  Best bet would be to ask the farmer, think he goes by the name of  Mr De Kock, if you could go through his farm land which takes you right onto the ledges at Groenpunt.  Probably the best light tackle and dps spot, i think.

I'm fishing the Heidelberg A.C. compx on the 22/09, but i'm gonna stay a couple of days and play with my dps tackle.  The locals reckon the river starts producing from September on, so it should be good.

Hi

I spoke to my uncle this weekend, who has a house on the river,  and he says the grunter are starting to run. The river is still in flood but by mid-month it should be fine.

I have never dropshotted at the Breede but good spots  would be Grunter Bay, just upstream from the big sand flats on the Infanta side; fishing off the sand flats on a pushing tide (the water has to run over the flats into the channel) and the little bay at Sedgewicks.

Good Luck
