Had a great weekend at boschkop!!!!
We set out on Friday and got there at 3pm just as we got there it started to rain so we started to setup the gazebo imedietly an hour later the rain was bareable and we started to rig up the lines where in 15 minutes later and about 15 minutes later we caught the first carp about 1kg then two more before the wind picked up then we only caught small yellowfish 500gram the rest of the night until ten the rain was to unbearable the next morning we woke up to a windy morning and continued to catch small yellows shallow and deep when the wind stopped at 11am we caught the first carp we then pulled out a carp every 20 minutes between 1 and 2 kgs but we caught them deep at about 100m plus with an odd muddie every now and then but funny anough when the weather is good the yellows don't bother at all but when it started to rain again they cameback on the bite at night we caught a lot of muddies.We only caught one grass carp wich is good!!
The people who had baitboats and who could go deep caught better sized carp between 4 and 6 kg fish!
The yellows bit on basicly anything the carp we caught were on vaaldam floatie top hook and a plain floatie on the bottom I used SWD as a backing for a while then used a selmolina mixed with condensed milk and vanilla to just play around with and surprisingly the bites on the carp was 3 carp on that rod for any one with the other rod,,,,will definitely try that again soon good results the best dip combinations was red quarto/FX/almond in the mornings and later in the day red quarto and banjo on the bomb,,,,SA powder just brought in yellows so we abandoned it we left sunday night and allround each caught about 30 carp 15 muddies and dozens of yellows!!!
