hello gents

I have a question if someone may have an answer!
My neighbor brews his own beer and whiskey at home, he gave me the maize mix that's left after the process, would this work if used to make a feeding spot for carp/barbel or will the alcohol content in it chase the fish rather than attract them? This may be a dumb question but i have to ask.
The beer one is not so bad but the whiskey one is quiet strong, await any positive/negative  response

You can only try.
But I would think it is too sour/acid smell and taste for the fish.
Problem is ,if they don’t like it ,it may spoil your outing for the day if you cannot get to another spot.
just my 2c

Hi Tadeo

thanks for the reply,as i said any feedback is welcome. Also think it may chase em rather than attract them,i think will wait for the beer one as there less alcohol content in

It will attract fish but be careful to not overdo it. Maroek is often used in ground feed and is sorghum residue after the sorghum beer has been made.

Taste some "duiwelsdrek" fish are caught on this! Awfull stuff so is TCP, spirits etc.. etc..

Trick is to not overfeed your chosen spot.

Hi IWyk

thanks for that, what he gave is from his whiskey batch so i know will have a high alcohol content but was thinking to make up normal feeding ball and just add something else to the mix just make it more tasty for them.Honestly never made feeding balls before so its a first attempt ,i am still learning the South African fishing ways

Hi IWyk

Very true if one does not try one will never know.
You will never win the Lotto unless you try!!
I am going to give it a bash and give feedback
