Well said Nepps!

In my line of work I also have competitors, but don't go around saying if you travel with a different company you will die (which they might actually)! I just mention the advantages of our travel method without all the slander.

My first rods was the cheapest I could afford and I have caught many nice fish on them, but since then I have upgraded but still use these rods sometimes and will probably keep them for my laaitie one day.
Yip,Life's one big learning curve & that includes fishing. As a baby one's got to crawl before you can walk & life follows a similar pattern throughout. And no matter what rod you have, you can still have fun in the interim,as Rome wasn't built in a day. So,although I may have what I term as my perfect set up in Drop Shotting,I'll rather only offer advice if asked, and not make someone feel disenchanted about something they've really set their heart on.I find it most inappropriate for others to simultaneously slate equipment & deliberately undermine & disillusion those that have dreams of purchasing something with their own hard earned cash, especially in a time when crime is so rife.My 2c!

Is that the Sounds of Silence that I can hear? It's gone oh so quiet, and perhaps this means we'll get some dinkum constructive replies to postings and not tandem opinionated & biassed responses too far off the mark to offer any value to Sealine.

Guys, my post was in no way intended as an attack on Van at all, and I think that unfortunately it may have been taken this way....

I was merely expressing a view which I felt, and it seems that many others have too.

Personally I feel that Van has a MASSIVE amount to contribute to this site and all out members, especially with the extensive knowledge he has of a very wide range of products, many of which I would really like to get to know more about.

My problems were to do with the way in which this knowledge was being dispensed..... but perhaps the way I worded things came off a little harsh.

Yes I am tired of people, any people, trying to pull the wool over anyones eyes when it comes to tackle, especially in this country. But we all know that, and I've been vocal about it on here more than ones or twice, and I beieve that everone knows my views, as I have never been circumspect about any of them... what you see is what you get.

I would just really love for our members to all try and contribute in as positive a way as possible, and thats what I'm trying to get at here.....
My views are expressed as discussions, not as arguments.... we all know my feelings on arguing on the iternet.... and especially with fellow anglers!!!

I would also like to say that I am by no means an expert on anything, and never claim to be so, or act so... I have a passion for angling, and for tackle, and for making all forms of angling, tackle and knowledge as available and shared to as many fellow anglers as possible.... We all love this passion we call angling, and that should bind us, not Divide us...

Van - Mate my apologies if what I wrote was taken personally, it was no way intended, and if any of what I wrote wasut of turn, or you felt that I had no right to comment, or include any of what was written.
As I have stated above, my views are exactly that, my views. They are neither gospel, or heresay, but merely the opinions of one individual, me. And all of us on this site are entitled to our own opinions.
If you feel any of what I wrote should be retracted, please let me know, and I will do so.

Respect to all of you, and I hope that we can move forward, and all continue to learn from eachother, and share the watrs, the tackle and the fish in this fine passion and way of life that we call angling.
