Blue Lagoon

hi GOJ,
seems like nothings happening at Blue Lagoon or maybe its just a
secret as to whats happening there. I have only fished B/Lagoon maybe only 5 times on the surf. But, have fished Dropshot in the Lagoon on several ocassions catching juvenile kingfish & sand gurnards sometimes even shad.
From what I've heard, there has been garrick, snapper salmon; small kingies & pompanos being caught.
And from what I saw concerning the Pompano was sad, all juveniles being put in the bag. I'm sure if our fellow "sealine members" that fish B/Lagoon regularly(home ground) had saw this, they would have asked the culprit to release these fish due to its sizes.
Please could any of the fellow members that makes Blue Lagoon their 2nd home ,please give GOJ any info, if you'll have any. Send a personal mail if you'll want to, just to keep those bamboo plantaions away.
Please try to keep your home grounds poached free.

Howzit, Raveen, its good to see a fellow member having conservation on his mind, especially when it comes to Blue Lagoon, was walking through the other day (Saturday), in the afternoon, and saw a few guys bagging some grunter (25-30cm), i tried taking some pics. but my cell battery died...So if u see any guys poaching, try to sneak a pic and then post it... We need to start naming and shaming these idiots... Now that the North Bank is accessible, the guys have been getting some fish, alot of juveniles though, but its good sport... I heard a garrick came out on Sunday, so thats some good news...
I've tried dropshotting in the mouth with little success, what kind of lure's do u use and which area is the most prolific for u at Blue Lagoon???

I mainly use Ratfink, Sensation & Bandit products(monies worth). Will give u more details shortly concerning lure names(i have to look at the lables it all(always) in my bakkie). At B/Lagoon, I mostly fish bright into dark(sunset), start my dropshotting with bright lures & changing to darker lures, like blueblack or silverblack. For the kingies i start my retrieving extremely fast, as soon as my lure hit the water, almost allowing the lure the jump/skim the surface & slowing down the retrieve about half way thru the retrieval. For the sand gurnards I just do the normal jerk retrieval Or just drag the lure on the floor-bed on a extra slow retrieve.
Name of those lures will be sent to u shortly.

Thanks Raveen, i would appreciate those names, cos i'm really interested in getting some good action on dropshot, but i havent been lucky at all, i also think that i need to invest in some ratfink products, as i only use the Berkley range, with minimal success, and maximum cash outlay...so its a bit hard on the pocket... Thanks for the info... Hope i get some fish soon on dropshot!!!
