I am thinking of doing the bonanza this year, but I'm a little scared because I still try to fish.are there any tips for a beginner fisher like me and what do you think about the bonanza this year.we were at bloemhof a month ago and did not have a good catch, dead fish drifting around and bad smell in the water.

Also had dead fish in the water and the bad smell because of the dead fish, what we find was some idiot, netting all the small fish, then relising them again in the water after a night, with the heat of the water, the fish will die very quick, and they then really start to stink. So I had to clean up a very large area around us with a plastic bag just to get rid of the smell.

Also their was a lot of tiny fish swimming around that wasn't looking to good, they where very badly damaged, sometimes they would swim right out onto the beach. Sadly most of them died.

We did catch good though, just went in about 200m.

Also been thinking about doing the bonanza this year, just not sure if I want to fish their if it is so busy...

Almost everything we used worked, just use big baits and going in deeper, use a canoe
