good morning All.

I got this BG 30 in to service, someone else had worked on it a while back. One stainless pinion plate carrier spring was replaced with a mild steel spring, check the corrosion.

The bearings were all rusted and worn badly in this specific reel also. The spool shaft had a vibration due to being bent on the left side axes, i straightened this a best i could so there at least is no rub or vibration now on spinning. It definitely needed lots on TLC. Two days of intense work, it looks simple and straight forward but was far from this. Check the before and after photos to see the difference. Enjoy the pics.

cleaned each and every single part is stripped down and ultrasonic cleaned to remove rust and salt build up and dirt as well

nursed back to health correctly serviced and repaired its a BG now again

All the issues were resolved, the reel was smooth as butter again after my JJ TLC treatment. An extra bearing fitted in the spool tension cap end support, All practicle mods are always done which support function, Astetics do not bother me any modification should always be to improve function and support what the reel needs to do by making it easier and better; never weaker.
